when 和what time區別

what time與 when 都可以表示“什麼時候”。

後者所表示的時間範圍廣，有時也可指“幾點鐘”,“幾點幾分”，用來代替what time。
例如：
"What time(When) does your mother go to work?" “你母親什麼時候去上班?”
"She goes to work atseven" “她七點去上班.”
"When will he come back?".“他什麼時候回來?”“
"He'll come back tomorrow ”他明天回來。”
此外，what time還可以用作名詞,作主語或介詞賓語。
簡單的說：
when和what time的區別在於what time問具體的時間，如某一天的幾點鐘,甚至幾分鐘，而when問的時間比較籠統。因此在問生日日期時，不要用“what time”這個特殊疑問詞而應該用when。
