the others和the other的區別

the other是指兩個中的另一個，這裡other是代詞，如：He has two daughters。One is a nurse，the other is an engineer。他有兩個女兒，一個是護士，另一個是工程師。

the others意思是“其他東西，其餘的人”,特指某一範圍內的“其他的（人或物）”，可以看成是the other的複數形式。如：Two boys will go to the zoo，and the others will stay at home。兩個男孩子將去動物園，而其餘的留在家裡。

other可以做形容詞，表示其他的，比如other people其他的人。也可以做代詞，但是做代詞時一般不以原形出現，一般用以“the other”或者以複數形式“others”出現。

others

和some對比使用時，是“有些”的意思而不是做“其他”講，如：Some cleaned the windows，others mopped the floor。有的擦窗戶，有的擦地板。
